The Camino Banovina route starts near the city cathedral at Sisak, next to the monument dedicated to cardinal Stepinac and the ruins of the Roman town of Siscia. It heads towards the river then it continues left. Camino waypoints lead on the path alongside the river next to the football and baseball fields all the way to the railway bridge that is used to get across the river. Slow rise after the bridge leads us to an interesting church of St. Mary. The road continues through an urban area leading to the church of St. Mary – the Queen of Peace with magnificent altar mosaics by world famous artist, Jesuit, p. Marko Rupnik.
On the way to Petrinja the way enters the settlement of Mošćenica with its chapel of St. James. The entire time there is a multitude of stores and bars with plenty of opportunities for rest and sustenance. The route continues straight all the way to the approaches to Petrinja. The yellow arrows lead us through outlying suburbs to the church of Transfiguration of the Lord with yet another spectacular altar mosaic by p. Rupnik. In this section the route winds between small streets and it is advised to closely follow the yellow arrows. The final part of today’s route leads straight to the city park in front of the church of St. Lawrence.
