On the first weekend in July, Daruvar becomes the Rockabilly center of the world. For two days, we return to the golden musical past and relive memories, dance with rock & roll dancers, watch and admire polished oldtimers, listen to DJs and live bands. Every year, a large number of bands perform, both on the main town square, in front of the Daruvar Heritage Museum and in Julijev Park of the Daruvar Spa, entertaining all the citizens of the town of Daruvar, as well as tourists, with a variety of 50s music at a unique and exceptionally high-quality rockabilly festival.
Easter Magic of Lights by Salaj has for years been an unmissable destination for lovers of holiday atmosphere and light spectacles. Every spring during the Easter season, the Salaj estate in Grabovnica transforms into a fairy-tale landscape filled with thousands of sparkling Easter eggs, magical decorations, and festive attractions that draw visitors from all over Croatia and abroad.
The Zagreb – Čazma Supermarathon, also known as the From Kaptol to Kaptol race, is held on the route that starts at the Zagreb Kaptol and ends at the Čazma Kaptol. For many years, this 61.35 km long race was the longest road athletics race in Croatia and is among the oldest sports events in the country. This race also holds the title of the oldest ultramarathon race in Croatia and is highly ranked in accordance with the rules of the Croatian Athletics Federation.
Bjelovar Theatre Echoes or, locally named, BOK Fest in short, is Bjelovar’s theater festival with a tradition of more than 20 years. At the BOK Fest every year, the most significant theatrical productions of professional theater companies from the region are presented. The program includes performances for adults and children, as well as a number of accompanying activities. They are extremely diverse and include everything from music concerts and disco nights to humanitarian sports tournaments to art exhibitions
Terezijana is the most famous event in Bjelovar and a symbol of the city. It was held for the first time in 1996, and since then it has been held regularly every year, on the second weekend in June. The event was created as a tribute to the Austrian empress Maria Theresa, who founded Bjelovar in 1756, and is held in the very center of the city, on Eugen Kvaternik Square and the main city streets. In addition to costumed historical reenactments, the event is accompanied year after year by a rich musical program.
