On the fifth day, leaving Klis, the trail passes Gospin’s Island in Solin and the suburbs of Solin towards the expressway to Split. Just before that road, there is a pedestrian bridge nearby that leads through Diocletian’s aqueduct to the city of Split. Split is the largest city in Dalmatia and is full of shops, restaurants, shopping centers, pharmacies, hospitals and other various facilities.
Passing through the city districts, the road leads to the promenade by the sea, where the view escapes to the nearby islands.
Directly in front of the ferry port, the road leads to the Split Marian shrine of Our Lady of Pojišan.
After the sanctuary, the path leads along the bishop’s palace to the waterfront, from where you enter Diocletian’s cellars. Leaving the basement, you reach the Cathedral of St. Duja, which is over 17,000 years old.
Leaving the cathedral, the path leads straight across the basement into an alley to the statue of Gregory of Nin, behind which the path continues towards the northern exit of the city, where at the large intersection with Solina, the path leads left towards Kaštel Sućurac. A footpath leads to the church overlooking the sea.
The availability of accommodation in between and at the end of each recommended daily route is very good.
Some pilgrims select their accommodation at one destination on the Camino Central Dalmatia route and use local taxi services to get to and from daily stages.
The peninsula, the city of Split, as the capital of Dalmatia, abounds in various accommodation facilities.
Kaštel Sućurac has private accommodation along the main road in the town and by the sea.
