Walking the Croatian Camino from Split to Pirovac (150 km) turned out to be one of the true highlights of our journey through Croatia.
Unlike some of the more popular Camino routes across Europe, this stretch is still largely undiscovered. If you’re hoping to find a lively “Camino family” along the way, this route might not offer that—at least not yet. But what it lacks in crowds, it more than makes up for in something increasingly rare: peace, solitude, and authentic local connection.
We found ourselves fully immersed in the rhythm of the landscape—walking through quiet villages, exchanging smiles with locals, and enjoying long stretches where it felt like we had the entire trail to ourselves.
What Makes This Route Special

Final Thoughts
The Split to Pirovac Camino is a journey of contrasts—coast and countryside, history and simplicity, movement and stillness.
For us, it was the perfect blend of adventure and reflection, wrapped in some of the most beautiful scenery Croatia has to offer.
And perhaps the best part? It still feels like a hidden gem.
