From Gerovo the trail leads along the main road and climbs to Hrib and the church of St. Leonard the Abbot. Then you continue walking without major climbs all the way to the settlement of Podgrič, through forest areas that will enchant you. You continue to descend, and at one point you’ll be captivated by the view of the Kupa River – the emerald jewel of the Risnjak National Park. This is a sign that you are near the Tratinčica tourist and catering business, where you can refresh yourself and get to know the local way of life. After the break, the most demanding part of this route begins – a difficult climb all the way to Razloge, and beyond. In Razloge, you can visit the Church of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. After that, the climb continues all the way to the main road, which is also a sign that you are very close to your destination, or the last point of this section. Crni Lug is hidden on the doorstep of the Risnjak National Park, surrounded by forests and greenery, and is an ideal place to take a break and spending time in nature. In the center of Crni Lug there is a church named after its patron saints – Saints Peter and Paul.
Accommodation availability between and at the end of this recommended daily route is limited.
Some pilgrims choose accommodation at one destination on the Camino Gorski Kotar route and use local taxi services to get to and from the daily stages.
