After a break in Zamost, you will very soon reach one of the most beautiful places in Gorski Kotar – the settlement of Plešce. In the center, there is an impressive parish church of the Holy Trinity. The stage then continues to Mandli, and from that point on, it features a climb upwards (in the first part, it is gentler, and then, especially after Čabar, it becomes much more demanding) and walking along the main road, which requires extra caution regarding traffic. However, the effort will be well worth it, as you will pass through an impressive and the most beautiful part of Gorski Kotar, as considered by many,
The first major destination is Čabar, so you need to resupply with enough water. Čabar is one of the smaller towns in this area, but it is unique in its cultural and historical features. Be sure to visit the parish of St. Anthony of Padua and the Peter Zrinski Castle here. After Čabar, there is a more demanding climb, mostly on the main road, except for the end when the road turns towards the forest. In addition to the beautiful pristine nature, you will be most enchanted by the charming Chapel of the Sacred Heart, which is along the way. Soon you will reach the last point of this section – Parag. Here you can rest and refresh and find accommodation in one of the holiday homes furnished in the local style.
Accommodation availability between and at the end of this recommended daily route is limited.
Some pilgrims choose accommodation at one destination on the Camino Gorski Kotar route and use local taxi services to get to and from the daily stages.
