The most unique local attraction is probably Lake Jezero, near the town. It is the largest natural freshwater lake on the island, and is extraordinarily important for the preservation of the biodiversity of both the Krk island and the wider Kvarner region.

You should also check the beautiful, 1200m long promenade that is perfect for long walks by the sea. Of course, don’t miss the great beaches that offer all the amenities you might need to fully enjoy your stay by the sea, from water sports and activities to cafés and restaurants. Jadran beach with a Blue Flag, pebble beach Kijac, are just some of them.

There are many natural beaches in the nearby coves away from the centre, and more secret ones that are reachable only by boat or by ancient shepherds’ paths on the edge of pine forest – perfect if you prefer more solitude.

Njivice is known for its rich events scene from local fiestas and concerts, especially during the summer.
