We invite you to a different and richer weekend of the Camino Podravina this fall.
Saint James and Saint Francis of Assisi in communion for our Camino pilgrims.
This is the Jubilee Year, the year of indulgence of Saint Francis, proclaimed on the occasion of the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. During this period, believers can receive a full indulgence in all Franciscan churches around the world under the prescribed conditions.
Therefore, we invite you to make a pilgrimage together along the Camino Podravina and a smaller part of the Camino Međimurje route from 3rd to 4th October 2026 to Veliki Bukovac, because this is where the church of Saint Francis of Assisi is located.
The solemn thanksgiving mass of the pilgrimage route will be held on Sunday 4th October 2026 at 5pm.
Camino weekend plan and program:
03.10.2026 Saturday 23 km
- Gathering in Kuzminac at the church of St. Cosmas and Damian from 7:00 am
- Breakfast for all pilgrims.
- Blessing of pilgrims at 8:00 am
- Refreshment at the statue of St. Vincent approximately 12:00-13:00 pm in Globočec Ludbreški (the tallest statue of St. Vincent in the world)
- The end of the first day is in Ludbreg, at the sanctuary of the Precious Blood of Christ where there will be a holy mass at 6:30 pm.
Sleeping for pilgrims will be organized in the sports hall in Ludbreg. It is necessary to bring a sleeping bag. This sleeping option is free. For those who organize their own sleeping in available holiday homes, hotels, apartments, etc., they pay for their own overnight stay.
For all pilgrims who stay overnight in Ludbreg, information:
Ludbreg is a smaller town with enough restaurants, cafes and shops where you can organize your own dinner.
Pilgrims who return to their cars in Kuzminec will have transportation provided.
04.10.2026 Sunday 15 km
- Gathering in Ludbreg at the Shrine of the Precious Blood of Christ from 8:00 a.m.
- Breakfast for all pilgrims.
- Blessing of pilgrims at 9:00 a.m.
- Refreshments at the Podravska Chapel approx. 11:00-12:00 p.m.
- Lunch in Mali Bukovac approx. 2:00 p.m.
- Short socializing and testimony of a family at the Požgaj Farm.
- Ending in Veliki Bukovac. Solemn mass at 5:00 p.m.
- Return to Ludbreg will be provided.
All pilgrims will receive a special Compostela, appropriate for this Camino pilgrimage to St. Francis of Assisi.
Recommendation for all pilgrims who do not have a pilgrim passport in which stamps are collected to purchase one in the Official Gazette.
