The fifth stage of the Camino Zadar pilgrimage begins in the heart of Zadar, at the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary, where pilgrims can start their journey with a holy mass and a blessing.

Leaving Diklo, the path gradually veers away from the sea just before reaching the town of Kožino, leading inland. The route winds through peaceful olive groves, open fields, untouched landscapes, and stretches of forest, offering pilgrims a tranquil setting for meditation and reflection.

As the journey continues below the Ninski Stanovi area, pilgrims approach the ancient royal city of Nin, renowned for its deep historical and spiritual significance. Just before entering Nin, the route turns right, but a short detour to the left leads to the Church of St. Nicholas, a site well worth visiting before returning to the main path.

The trail then crosses a stone footbridge and leads through a stone archway at the entrance to the old town. Soon, pilgrims arrive at the Church of St. Anselm, marking the end of today’s stage.

Nin, one of Croatia’s oldest settlements, offers numerous opportunities for relaxation and spiritual renewal. Pilgrims can visit the Church of the Holy Cross, famously known as the “smallest cathedral in the world,” and take a peaceful stroll through the Petar Zoranić Memorial Park, soaking in the unique atmosphere of this historic town.

Accommodation availability between and at the end of this recommended daily route is good.

The city of Zadar itself offers hostels, apartments, hotels of various categories.

Arriving in Kožino, there is also a variety of accommodation. After it, there is no accommodation until Prorokovići (Ninski Stanovi), and Nin itself.
