New Camino Adventure: Grand Opening of the “Center of the World” Section in Ludbreg!
We invite all walking enthusiasts, nature lovers, and spiritual seekers to join us on Sunday, August 30th, for the grand opening of the new Camino Center of the World section in Ludbreg!
This special route offers the perfect opportunity to escape daily routines, enjoy beautiful landscapes, and connect with like-minded people. Whether you are an experienced pilgrim or just discovering the joy of hiking, this section is perfect for you.
Event Schedule and Timeline
To make sure your day goes smoothly, we have prepared a clear itinerary:
- 08:30 AM – Gathering of participants in Martijanec
- 09:00 AM – Holy Mass (due to ongoing renovations at the church, mass will be held in the Local Community Center / Društveni dom)
- After Mass – Departure for the Camino route
What to Expect on the Trail?
The total length of this section is 12.70 kilometers. The trail is gentle and flat, meaning it is not too physically demanding and is perfect for a relaxed walk. Along the way, we will pass through beautiful, picturesque villages of the Ludbreg region.
Of course, there is no rush! We will make stops and rest breaks as needed so that everyone can enjoy a pace that feels comfortable.
Our final destination is Jakopovec, where we expect to arrive between 1:30 PM and 2:00 PM. The beautiful Church of St. James, the patron saint of pilgrims, awaits us there.
Important Information for Participants
- Camino Pilgrim Passport: Every participant will receive a special pilgrim passport to collect stamps along the route as a lasting memory of this day.
- Food and Drinks: Please make sure to bring enough water and a packed lunch/snacks for the hike.
- Return Transport: You don’t have to worry about logistics – safe transport back to your cars in Martijanec is fully provided.
