Camino Croatia is a project being developed by the Croatian confraternity of St. James . Its goal is to restore the medieval routes leading from Croatia to Santiago de Compostela as a part of European network the Way of St. James – Camino de Santiago. This project is not just about setting up road markers and pilgrim infrastructure. Its main purpose is to help pilgrims discover the “Camino experience” – a unique spiritual journey, while exploring the rich cultural, historical and natural treasury of Croatia.
The pilgrim path follows the medieval pilgrimage routes connecting the Croatian churches and shrines dedicated to St. James. The Camino Croatia route is being developed in individual route stages. Each stage represents a unique part of the route.
