Opening of the Camino section Čazma-Štefanje-Bjelovar
Get to know a part of Moslavina with the oldest church in the county, once the seat of the Čazma chapter, walk along the Medjama promenade along wooden paths through the treetops and visit the “Dabrova kuća”. Relax by walking along the thematic path along the Česma River and take the forest path to Bilogora, where the city of Maria Theresa and the seat of the Bjelovar-Križevci diocese await you.
INFORMATION AND PROGRAM
Day 1, Saturday, Čazma-Štefanje, 26km
From 07:00 participants gather, register and have breakfast.
8:00 am joint Holy Mass in the Church of St. Mary Magdalene in Čazma, followed by the blessing of the Camino pillars.
Then our Camino begins, where we will experience the concept of “green tourism” and walk along the Medjama promenade through the treetops and enjoy the view from the panoramic terraces along the way, discover the beaver’s den in Vustje and relax walking along the thematic hiking and cycling trail along the Česma River. The route will take us through a gentle hilly area to our destination in Štefanj and the Church of St. Stephen the First Martyr, another old sacral building with a characteristic cincture.
A communal dinner will be prepared for all pilgrims.
Information on accommodation for those coming from afar and intending to walk the entire weekend will be available later.
For everyone returning to Čazma to pick up their cars or to spend the night there, transportation will be organized after dinner.
Day 2, Sunday, Štefanje-Bjelovar, 22km
From 7:00 pilgrims gather and have breakfast together
At 8:00 joint Holy Mass in the Church of St. Stephen the First Martyr in Štefanje.
On the second day, in front of the church, we head to the forest areas, and then through the villages of Moslavina we head towards Bilogora and the future spa of Wellovar and towards Bjelovar, where we will see several important city sights. We will end the Camino at the Church of St. Anthony of Padua. After the final blessing and distribution of the Compostela, transportation is organized for those who left their vehicles in Štefanje.
NOTE:
- Meals and transfer to the car are free
- In case of bad weather, the Camino is not postponed, because we follow the saying “there is no bad weather, only bad clothing and shoes”
