FIRST STEPS OF THE CAMINA CRIKVENICA VINODOL – 12 KM BY THE SEA
We invite you to the first, Advent Camino Crikvenica Vinodol, a special edition of our new pilgrimage route, which will take place on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
This short but spiritually rich pilgrimage will also be an introduction to the future four-day Camino Crikvenica Vinodol, which connects Senj with Jadranova over a length of 85 km, and will take place in 2026.
To begin with, this December we will step into a 12 km long section — from Crikvenica to Jadranova, with the sound of the waves and the scents of the sea, in the atmosphere of Advent.
The gathering is in front of the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Crikvenica, and the beginning of the Holy Mass is at 8:00 a.m. After the Mass, the participants set off on the Jadranova route. They will pass through the center of Crikvenica, right by the sea. They will move along the balustrade towards the Crikvenica City Beach, the largest beach on our Riviera.
Continuing on, you reach Dramalj, where the coastal promenade offers beautiful views of the island of Krk and part of the Kvarner Bay. The path then leads to Kačjak, a small peninsula known for its viewpoints and picturesque coves, ideal for a short stop, prayer and reflection. Here begins the most attractive part of the Wave Path – a promenade dedicated to the sea, waves and the connection between man and nature. At several points, pilgrims can stop, reflect and be inspired by the beauty of simplicity.
The final part of the Camino leads to Jadranovo, a former settlement of sailors and fishermen. The pilgrimage ends at the church of St. James, the patron saint of pilgrims and the symbolic end of every Camino. There, all participants will be welcomed by a shared meal and socializing, and an organized return by bus to the center of Crikvenica.
Our Advent Camino leads along the coast — between the blue of the sea and the silence of a winter morning. We will walk along the famous promenades that breathe a special peace in December, an opportunity to give thanks, reflect and prepare our hearts for the arrival of Christmas.
Whether you have already walked one of the Croatian Caminos or are just starting your pilgrimage experience, we invite you to join us at this symbolic beginning of the Camino Crikvenica Vinodol — a path that combines faith, community and the beauty of our region.

Registration is possible no later than 01.12. - Bring enough fluids and food
- Adjust your shoes and clothing to the weather conditions
- In case of bad weather, the Camino is not postponed
- All age groups can participate, and children must be accompanied by their parents
- Walking is at your own risk
- The less weight you carry, the better your Camino
