The Spanish Federation of Associations of Friends of the Camino de Santiago (FEACCS), in collaboration with the Sociedade Anónima de Xestión do Plan Xacobeo, is inviting volunteers to join the Support Volunteer Program in the public pilgrim hostels (albergues) of Galicia from June to October 2025.

👣 What do volunteers do?
Volunteers are present at the albergues during the most important times of day – morning and evening – to welcome, inform, and support pilgrims. Their role is to offer hospitality, provide information, and show care, without being involved in physical tasks such as cleaning, check-in, or fee collection.

🏡 Where does the volunteering take place?
In various public albergues across Galicia – including Monte do Gozo, O Cebreiro, Portomarín, Muxía, Lugo, and others (full list below).

📅 How long is each volunteering period?
Volunteers commit to 15-day shifts, and can participate in one or two shifts (in different locations).

🛏️ What is provided?
Volunteers receive a private room, separate from the pilgrims, and are covered by civil liability insurance during their stay. Travel and food costs are not covered – this is a non-paid volunteer position based on solidarity and community spirit.

👫 Who can apply?
Applications are open to individuals or pairs (most hostels can accommodate two volunteers per shift). Each Camino association can nominate as many candidates as they wish.

📧 How to apply?
Fill out the application form here: https://forms.gle/jeckSGesALw4CSLE9
Once selected, volunteers will be invited to an online Zoom session, where they will receive a full orientation and practical information.
Participation in this session is mandatory.

📍 Hostel assignments are made on a first-come, first-served basis – so don’t wait too long!
